Bridport has its own indoor skate park, a revelation when you’ve been used to taking your kids to the outdoor concrete versions throughout the winter months! Plus, this skate park has snacks, hot drinks and an indoor viewing area with seating, and as a parent that's definitely a bonus. For the kids, teens and adult skaters, there's a good range of ramps to cater for all abilities from around age 4 upwards. Bring your skateboard, scooter, skates or BMX, helmet and pads and water. Some safety gear is available to borrow if needed.
Beginners and/or younger kids can practice on a shallow ramp tucked away from the main ramp set up (adults can stand on this ramp and assist if needed.)
If you’re looking for a quieter time to attend, the first hour on a Saturday is often a quieter period, getting busier as the day goes on.
Refreshments are available from a little tuck shop café, and seating is available upstairs overlooking the ramps.
Branded merch t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts are available to buy (a sweatshirt costs £17, for example) with proceeds going back into the running of this voluntary-run centre.
The skate park is also available for private hire – would make a great venue for a skate & ride themed birthday party!
I have to say, I was really impressed with what’s been created here to provide such a great indoor facility primarily for local kids and teens and it had a friendly, welcoming feel from the staff and the skaters. Clearly the result of a lot of hard work and passion from those behind the project. Will definitely return and recommend to others.
