Freshwater Holiday Park between West Bay and Burton Bradstock on the West Dorset coast has some great facilities that are open to the public for most of the year – some of them are restricted during the busy summer holidays but for the most part non-residents are welcomed.
The heated outdoor pool is great for younger kids and is open to non-residents during the warmer months but not in the summer holidays.
The indoor pool benefits from a great little splash zone and some slides alongside the main swimming pool – as close to a waterpark as you’ll get ‘round these parts! (It’s no Splashdown – just a couple of slides. Younger kids love it though.) The indoor facilities are open for most of the year (except summer holidays) but check online first and booking is recommended during busy periods.
Finally – there’s a small ten-pin bowling alley attached to the main restaurant (which is good for a post swim/bowl burger ‘n’ chips with a sea view!). Bowling can be prebooked online and is open seven days a week all year round. You can even ask them to turn off the lights so you can bowl in a UV glow!
The park itself has its own private stretch of beach, so you can go and stretch your legs on the coarse sand afterwards.
