New buggy/scooter/bike walk from Seaton Wetlands to Seaton Playground & Skate Park

I’d heard that a new section of cycle path had been installed that connects Seaton Wetlands all the way to Seaton playground and skate park  – and on to the seafront – so this had to be checked out!

You can pick up the new section of surfaced cycle path from the car park at Seaton Wetlands – accessed through Seaton Cemetery. Rather than walking left from the car park into the Wetlands, turn right, and you’re on the track that takes you all the way into Seaton town centre. The route is relatively level and ideal for buggies, scooters and bikes and brings you out right next to the large playground and skate park next to the Underfleet Car Park – perfect for a play or skate halfway.

From here, you could grab some refreshments from the Costa Coffee at Tesco, or continue another 5 minutes to reach the high street and seafront with its independent cafes and ice cream kiosks. A new visitor attraction and soft play is due to open in the old Seaton Jurassic building (also next to the skate park and playground) in summer 2024 – which could tie in with a walk or cycle ride nicely!

There’s also Seaton Tramway – a great little ride for kids – if they’re too tired you could always hop on a tram back and get off at the Wetlands halt.

The walk/ride is a ‘there and back’ rather than a circular and takes about 20 minutes each way. Back at the starting point, you can wander around Seaton Wetlands where there are several bird hides, ponds, toilets, and a small (free) visitor centre – read about it here.
